One day, in the not too distant future, you’ll be watching Later with Jools Holland or listening to the Radio One Chart Show and saying “Wow, I saw these guys at Rhyl Folk and Acoustic Club before they were famous”
Their debut CD, The Cabinet Maker, which is being officially launched on the 15th of November is absolutely fabulous. We bought ours almost two months ago and it’s been on repeat ever since. It’s that good. It really is.
Listening to them live is even better! I’ve had the opportunity of seeing them play live twice now and on both occasions the entire audience were transfixed, completely aware they were witnessing something really special.
Honestly folks. You really mustn’t miss this.
Gary, Skeet and Oscar will be doing two forty minute spots and as usual support will be provided by club regulars, so bring your instruments as usual.
One from the 2013 archives…
A little taster of what we have in store when Paul Reaney comes to perform a guest spot at the club in February.
We had an insight to Skeet Williams’s tasty guitar work at the club the other week. Well here is a taste of what we have in store when he returns on October 10th with bassist Oscar South and singer/songwriter Gary Edward Jones. It’s a night not to be missed!
Enjoy…
We all enjoyed Merry Hell when they visited the club last month. Here’s a reminder courtesy of their manager Damian who sent us a copy of their latest video:
Club members Alan & Dawn here singing a new song which they wrote when they were staying at the Gathering Guest House at Inverie on Scotland’s beautiful Knoydart peninsula overlooking the southern tip of the Isle of Skye
They are gifting their song to the excellent bed and breakfast landlady Cara, who runs The Gathering, and who posted this video on the Gathering’s Facebook page.
